It was a stunning day so I set out to check out Adamton Country House Hotel at Prestwick this is a very old house set 19 acres of grounds and mature woodlands situated near Prestwick international airport.
I have to say the drive up to the main hotel was lovely and the building impressive could do with a bit more maintenance however these old houses will never be perfect and often adds to the charm.
They have a tennis court that does need some attention, however at the time of my visit work around the grounds was underway, there are some good spots to take pictures.
They have a elegant function room which can cater for up to 200 guests, there is an extension to the building which is newer for additional accommodation.
I would say the rooms are on par with a travel lodge, in the old part of the building they do have 27 luxurious signature rooms, much of the old building has retained original features. The views from the lounge and restaurant are wonderful.
The staff were friendly and helpful, there are seating area’s dotted around for people to mingle whilst waiting to go into the venue, there is also disabled access for guests. Access is through the newer part of the building with the older part only opened for the restaurant or special events.
Should you be flying out on your honeymoon from the nearby airport you can make arrangements for parking. the hotel is in a good location for transport and is only 20 min drive from Glasgow.
If you are a pet lover they do allow you to bring your dog however you need to ask in advance as they are only allowed in the new annex part.
This is certainly a venue worth considering and if you want to save on costs consider a weekday or in the not so popular months to get married.
