Summer of this year my niece will be getting married and as a treat we had a spa and afternoon tea for the girls, Donald Trump has certainly done wonders with the hotel and spa.
The spa is in another building next to the hotel itself, when we went recently they were doing some work at the spa however it did not take anything away from the resort. We received a warm greeting the staff were friendly and helpful.
There were six of us in the party and we all had various treatments I had the full facial and eye firming treatment which lasted 55 minutes it was relaxing and my skin felt great afterwards, came to the conclusion I should do this more often.
So what is available in the spa besides a choice of treatments, the spa has a pool with lovely views over the golf club and the sea in the back ground, there is a jacuzzi, sauna and they have a small pool for very young children.
There is the relax room for ladies which has a sauna, steam room , jet shower and recliners should you wish to just relax, the changing rooms facilities have showers, lockers, hairdryers and I loved the gadget for drying your swimming suits, they provide shampoo, shower gel and moisturisers all which smelt great.
We were also booked for the Turnberry afternoon tea package as the passage way to the hotel was being refurbished the shuttle bus picked us up in our robes and slippers to the hotel even though it is only a distance to walk.
We were greeted at the door and taken to one of the dinning rooms, the hotel itself is simply stunning a lot of thought and detail has gone into it, from the beautiful chandeliers to bespoke pieces of furniture, the atmosphere was warm and relaxing.
There were plenty of staff on hand who made you feel right at home despite us of being a bit uncomfortable in our robes we felt so under dressed!! t the service we received was excellent nothing seemed too much trouble, staff were attentive and explained how it would all work and what they were bringing out to us.
They brought in sparkling wine for a toast as I did not drink they brought me the alcohol free option which looked no different to the rest of the party, the table was beautifully set.
There was a selection of savories and cakes, the presentation was very elegant and tasted wonderful, after this it was scones, with cream and jam. I do not drink hot drinks, weird I know however the rest did take the exclusive Turnberry blended tea which is created by Twinnings they all gave it the thumps up, it was a generous pot of tea for each person.
Whilst we enjoyed the afternoon tea we there was also music being played on the harp it added to the ambience of the day. When we were ready the shuttle bus took us back to the spa for our treatments it was a perfect relaxing and fun day, we decided to use the pool first then take our afternoon tea so as to end our day with the relaxing treatments.
Final conclusion:
This hotel boasts a five star rating and it certainly deserves it and if you can afford a bit of luxury I would certainly recommend this hotel and spa, think I will start saving now for the next visit. Their own website often have offers on and it would be worth checking groupon or wowcher to see if they have any additional offers for this resort, I will be on the look out to.
This was a unexpected girls day out however it would make a stunning wedding venue which could be hosted in the ball room depending on numbers, as well as the accommodation with in the hotel Trump Turnberry also offer villa’s

Word of caution if you intend getting a spa treatment for your wedding make sure it is not too close to your wedding day in case you have any adverse reaction, other than that enjoy !!
